{"id":194255,"date":"2017-04-20T18:59:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T10:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/sem-categoria\/2017\/04\/41798-pt_pt\/"},"modified":"2017-04-20T18:59:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T10:59:00","slug":"41798","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/pt-pt\/news-and-press-releases\/press-release\/detail\/41798\/","title":{"rendered":"UM students win Outstanding Paper Award at Hong Kong Institution of Engineers\u2019s annual symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two University of Macau (UM) students from\nthe Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, received Outstanding Paper Awards at the annual symposium \u2018Belt and Road: Opportunities for Control, Automation and Instrumentation Engineers\u2019\nof the Control, Automation and Instrumentation Division of the Hong Kong\nInstitution of Engineers.<\/p><p>Titled \u2018Integration of\nRFID and Big Data Technologies for Transportation Management\u2019, and \u2018Strategy of Applying Knowledge Management to Safety of Boiler\nOperation and Maintenance Engineering Industry\u2019, the two award-winning papers propose the different ways in which electromechanical engineering technology can\ncontribute to the \u2018Belt and Road\u2019. The papers were authored by PhD student Ho\nWeng Ian and master\u2019s\nstudent Wan Ka Lok, respectively, and supervised by\nProf Wong Seng Fat, with\nassistance from three undergraduate students on Prof Wong\u2019s research team,\nnamely Sun Kuok Chon, Loi Chong Keong, and Ho Chon Kin.\nProf Wong was invited to be a keynote speaker in the symposium. He shared\nMacao engineers\u2019 role and contribution in the Belt and Road\u2019.<\/p><p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHeld in the Charles\nK Kao Auditorium of the Hong Kong Science Park, the symposium attracted\nmore than 200 experts and scholars from around the world, including the CEO of\nHong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, the deputy director of\nElectrical and Mechanical Services Department of Hong Kong SAR, and\nengineers from different places.
