The University of Macau (UM) Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming (ISCG) recently held a graduation ceremony for students of its Diploma in Casino Management programme and Advanced Diploma in Gaming Management programme. Since their establishment, the two programmes have graduated over 900 students, many of whom now hold management positions in the gaming industry.

Officiating guests at the ceremony include Jean Chen, dean of the Faculty of Business and Administration; Davis Fong Ka Chio, director of the ISCG; and representatives of casino operators in Macao. During the ceremony, graduates of the two programmes received their diplomas, and 14 outstanding graduates received the Outstanding Achievement Award or the Merit Award.

According to Dean Chen, in addition to offering the two programmes, the ISCG has also worked with casino operators to provide internal training courses for their employees. For instance, the ISCG recently held a well-received workshop to help management personnel in integrated resorts and tourism management industries to upgrade their knowledge.

Since 2007, the ISCG has offered the Diploma in Casino Management programme for nine times and the Advanced Diploma in Gaming Management programme for 13 times. The programmes aim to provide opportunities for gaming industry employees and those who wish to join the industry to enhance their competitiveness.
