The Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau launched its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme in this academic year. This 3-year DBA programme is designed to broaden an international vision and develop an innovative perspective of senior working executives. 

Our first call of application has attracted 83 total applications. After the rigorous screening process and interviews, 20 senior executives were successfully enrolled in the first intake of this new programme and would start their study in September, 2019. Ninety percent of them are EMBA or MBA degree holders from top ranked universities. Most of them (95%) are currently working in the positions of CEO, director, general manager or company secretary in companies from various industries such as hospitality and gaming, banking and investment, food and beverage, manufacturing, and entertainment, etc., some of which are listed companies. Students in this cohort are from Macao local as well as different cities of Mainland China including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Yinchuan and Kunming, etc. With the diversified background and profound management experiences of the students, the programme can cultivate a synergetic learning platform for them to further develop and actualize their full potential. This new programme has provided an excellent example of our success in providing executive education and better serve Macao and the beyond.

The programme held its opening ceremony on September 20. Our Rector Prof. Song Yonghua delivered his welcome speech to the students. Prof. Jean Chen, Dean of FBA, and our honorable guests, Ms. Linda Chen, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, and Dr. Shuguang Mao, Managing Director of GF Investments (Hong Kong) Company Limited, gave their speech to celebrate the opening of the new programme and to encourage the students to make effort in their study. The students started their first class after the opening ceremony.   

The student recruitment of the new cohort of the DBA programme will begin soon. The programme welcomes applicants who want to widen their international vision, expand their business connections, and advance their management competence in a diversified platform!
