We are pleased to inform you that the latest issue of umagazine is now available. (With University of Macau Annual Report 16/17)

In this issue’s cover story, we interview Rector Wei Zhao and Vice Rector Lionel Ni, two experts on big data and the Internet of Things. They discuss how Macao can develop into a smart city and suggest what UM can do to produce experts prepared to embrace the smart future.   

We also interview four faculty members, who were born and raised in Macao but received higher education overseas, namely Associate Professor Greta Mok from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Chao Kuang Piu College Master Lau Yun Tung, Assistant Professor Miranda Mak from the Faculty of Education, and Macao Fellow Anna Cheang. They disclose why they chose to return to Macao and what specific opportunities they envisioned would be available at the university. In the feature story, we write about a permanent exhibition in the hallways of the Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences.
