Mr. Anthony Lau, a graduate of the MBA programme of the University of East Asia as well as former President of the University of East Asia Graduate College Alumni Association (now the University of Macau (Hong Kong) Alumni Association), has made donation of one million Hong Kong dollars to support the educational development of the University of Macau, as a token of his appreciation to his Alma Mater on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the University. To remember the generosity of Mr. Lau, the multi-function room of the International Library will be named “Anthony S. W. Lau Exhibition Hall”.

Mr. Lau is a core member of the alumni association of the University of Macau. During the period 2001-2002 when he was the President of University of East Asia Graduate College Alumni Association (UEAGCAA), he actively strengthened the Association’s relationships with the University of Macau and established the UEAGCAA Scholarship to which he gave his full support. Mr. Lau is the Chairman and Chief Executive of BALtrans Holdings Limited. He has been in the airline and freight forwarding business since the sixties. His company has now more than 1,700 employees in over 51 branches. Mr. Lau has also been enthusiastically promoting the development of the logistics industry. In the first Logistics Awards Hong Kong 2005, he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award. He is one of the most outstanding entrepreneurs in the logistics industry in the world.
