A delegation led by Deputy Director of the Ministry of Science and Technology Cao Jianlin and Ministry of Science and Technology’s Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Director Ma Linying today (31 October) visited the University of Macau (UM). The delegation was warmly received by UM Rector Wei Zhao, Vice Rector (Research) and State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI Director Rui Martins.

Rector Wei Zhao told the guests about UM’s latest developments, master plan of the new campus, and opportunities brought by the new campus. Vice Rector Rui Martins explained the research direction of UM’s two state-key labs, UM’s recent research achievements, and collaboration projects with other institutions.

The delegation visited UM Wu Yee Sun Library, the Administrative Building, the University Hall, as well as the various faculties and residential colleges. Cao noted that UM has attained impressive achievements in scientific research and global rankings in the past five years. He expressed support for UM’s research and hopes that UM can play a leading role in promoting industrial diversification of Macao.
