It’s been a month since the new semester started. Have you adapted to the new life at your residential college? Do you think your room is a bit dull and doesn’t feel like a home? Do you like the furniture arrangement in the room? Use a little creativity, and you can make your room and your life more colourful. Let’s learn some room makeover tips from these students.

Kathrine, 1st year, FAH, LCWC

“The room looks so pretty this way it makes me want to go back to it every day, also I’m used to sleeping with the lights on, so the lights are not just for decoration but also serve a practical purpose.”

Takino, 1st year, FSS, MCMC

“The bed curtain gives me some privacy. I like this style. It makes the room look cute and feel more like a home.”

Justin, 2nd year, FED, SPC

Lampard, 2nd year, FSS, SPC

“This way, the room is brighter, and you are less likely to fall asleep while studying. We put the freezer on top of the shoe cabinet to create more space.”

SK, 2nd year, FSS, SHEAC

“We both like to have a bed big enough to roll around in, so we put the two beds together. We also re-arranged the desks to create more space.”

See? With a little creativity, you can turn an otherwise dull room into a lovely home with style. And why not? After all, it will be where you live for the next one, two, or four years. So roll up your sleeves and start working on your room makeover. It may sound like a lot of work, but the satisfaction from re-decorating the room to your liking would be well worth the effort.
