The University of Macau (UM) on 5 December held the first lecture of the Doctor honoris causa Lecture Series of this academic year. The speaker Prof. Sérgio Machado dos Santos is a university leader and recipient of this year’s title of Doctor of Science honoris causa. Prof. Santos discussed quality culture in higher education and shared his experience of being a university rector. The lecture drew over 100 students and faculty members.
Prof. Sérgio Machado dos Santos is the former rector of the University of Minho, Portugal, and is now its honorary rector. He has made significant contributions in the areas of research, culture and education. UM will confer the Degree of Doctor of Science honoris causa upon Prof. Santos on 7 December.
