An award ceremony for winners of the Reading Activity 2012, which was co-organised by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) and the University of Macau (UM) Library, was held on 23 April. Initiated by UM’s Dean of Students Dr. Peter Yu, this reading activity is the first of its kind at UM, and was greeted with an enthusiastic response. More than 90 articles about reading were received. Dr. Peter Yu says that he initiated this activity in hopes of encouraging students to read more, because reading not only increases one’s knowledge, but also enriches one’s life.
