SIUC launched a ten-year student exchange programme for students of the Department of English and Department of Communication of UM. Every year at least six UM students with high GPA scores were selected to study at SIUC for six months. Many students that participated in this programme, such as Miranda Ma, who graduated in 2008, and Angela Leong from the Department of Communication, returned to SIUC for further study upon completing the programme. One of the earliest students on that exchange programme from the Department of English was Mr. Buddy Lam Chi Seng, who went on to become the first Executive Director of Public Relations at the Venetian Macau and is now Vice President of Public Relations of the Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited. These participants of the exchange programme have obviously benefitted a lot from their stay at SIUC, and such experiences have become valuable assets for them.
