An inauguration ceremony for the new cohort of 76 UM Reporters and PR Student Ambassadors (PRSA) was held.

University of Macau (UM) Vice Rector (Student Affairs) Billy So officiated at the ceremony. In his speech, So said that after nine years of development, the UM Reporter Programme and the PRSA Programme have become two excellent brands among student programmes at UM. They are vehicles for students to receive community and peer education and help to strengthen the ties between the university and the community. Through the two programmes, students can develop soft skills, broaden their horizons, and increase their employability. Rector Yonghua Song also attended the ceremony to show support to the students.

During the ceremony, representatives of UM Reporters and PRSAs shared their experiences in the programmes. Katrina Cheong, director of the Communications Office, awarded certificates to UM Reporters and PRSAs with outstanding performance in the past year. Launched by the CO in 2010 and 2012, respectively, the two programmes admit students from different backgrounds. The PRSA Programme has trained over 376 PRSAs, who have received more than 64,000 visitors from around the world, while the UM Reporter Programme has trained over 246 students.
