CommeFest, an event aimed to present creative graduation works (such as movies, videos, magazines, and documentaries) made by students of English Communication  and Journalism and Public Communication, is due to open at the Cultural Centre of UM at 19:00 on 10 December (Thursday). This is the first CommeFest organized by the Department of Communication and will last from 10-12 December.

Production of digital videos, TV documentaries and magazines are part of the communication programmes. The aim of combining theory study with practice is to give students the opportunity to have in-depth discussions about hot social issues and enable students to acquire practical knowledge such as the history, development and aesthetic appeal of TV documentaries as well as the techniques and skills involved at different production stages. Moreover, an exhibition of student works will help improve students’ knowledge in their chosen fields, strengthen their team spirit, and give them the opportunity to share the fruits of their hard work with people from all walks of life.

The opening ceremony will unveil the publication of the latest issue of  full-colour student magazine Umac Bridges and inaugurate the screening of student film Gateway. Both Umac Bridge and Gateway are original works by fourth-year students of English Communication. Macau Faces documentary by the Journalism and Public Communication and the 3motion by third-year students of English Communication will also be presented. These works reflect the creativity of UM students and the cultural uniqueness of Macao. The event will inject new vitality into Macao’s creative industry. All are welcome!
