UM students hold charity sales for students from Congjiang, Guizhou

The House Association of the University of Macau (UM) Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) recently held a series of charity sales to raise money for the service learning programmes to be launched by UM in Congjiang county, Guizhou province. The sales received great support from CYTC students and their friends and relatives, raising a total of MOP 12,951.

 

Improving education for students from Congjiang is one of the key poverty alleviation projects organised by the Macao SAR government in line with the central government’s policies for poverty reduction. Starting this December, CYTC will organise service learning programmes in Congjiang on a regular basis to improve the learning environment of local primary and secondary schools and to help college members develop a sense of social responsibility.
