A delegation from McGill University, led by its vice-principal (research and innovation) Martha Crago, visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song, Vice Rector (Global Affairs) Rui Martins, and Director of Global Affairs Cindy Lam. 

During the visit, the delegation visited UM’s State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI and State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine. Prof Crago said she was impressed with UM’s academic atmosphere, campus facilities, outstanding faculty team, and research achievements. UM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with McGill University in June this year. Under the MOU, both Prof Crago and Prof Song hope to further strengthen collaboration and academic exchange between the two universities.

Members of the delegation included Associate Provost (International) Prof Philip Oxhorn, and Prof Peter Fu from Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture. 

Established in 1821, McGill University is a public research institution with around 40,000 students. The university comprises 11 faculties and 11 schools, all housed in 300 buildings. The university is currently ranked No 33 in the QS World University Rankings and No 42 in Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
