The University of Macau (UM) recently held an award ceremony for winners of the 14th Pan-Pearl River Delta Physics Olympiad (Macao Region). This year’s competition attracted more than 170 students from secondary schools in Macao. Pui Ching Middle School and Keang Peng School won first prizes in the group category. Students from Pui Ching Middle School, Keang Peng School, and the Worker’s Children High School won first prizes in the individual category. A student from the Worker’s Children High School was ranked No 1 in the elementary category in Macao. During the event, the Center of Physics Olympiad of Macao awarded scholarships to students who have completed a training course. The competition was organised by the Center of Physics Olympiad of Macao and sponsored by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, with assistance from UM’s Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering.
