20 higher education institutions in Guangdong, Macao, and Hong Kong on Nov 26 jointly founded an alliance for education in traditional Chinese culture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Initiated by the University of Macau’s (UM) Centre for Chinese History and Culture (CCHC), the alliance is a non-profit, non-political academic and cultural association dedicated to promoting the study of traditional Chinese culture by taking advantage of the collective wisdom, research capability, and educational experience of scholars from the Greater Bay Area and overseas. The alliance will focus its effort on disseminating traditional Chinese culture among residents in the Greater Bay Area, particularly the youth, and increasing its members’ understanding of traditional Chinese culture. Prof Hao Yufan, director of the CCHC, has been elected president of the alliance.
