The Ninth International Conference on the Legal Reforms of Macau in Global Context – Law, Sexuality and Family, organised by the Centre for Law Studies of the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Law, will be held on 27 October and 28 October at UM. Scholars and experts from Portugal, Mozambique, Brazil, mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao will have in-depth discussions on legal issues related to sexuality.

Speakers at the conference will include scholars from the University of Coimbra, the University of Lisbon, and the University of Minho in Portugal; the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique; São Paulo State University in Brazil; as well as experts from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, with academic, judicial and legislative experience. They will discuss a wide range of topics, including ‘Family Planning, Sexuality, and Family’, ‘Reproduction, Sexuality, and Filiation’, ‘Sexuality, Marriage, and Other Unions’, and ‘Sexuality and Civil and Criminal Responsibility’.

The conference will be held in the auditorium in the UM Wu Yee Sun Library. The first day of the conference will last from 9:00am to 7:00pm, and the second day from 9:30am to 7:15pm. Simultaneous interpretation between Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and Portuguese will be provided. All are welcome.
