The 22nd Summer Course of Portuguese Language and Culture, jointly held by Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) and the Department of Portuguese, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSH), University of Macau will be concluded this Friday (27th) at 4:00 pm at STDM Auditorium of University of Macau Library.

This year a total of 260 students coming from the Chinese Mainland, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Macao joined the summer course. As to facilitate their learning, they were distributed into ten sessions and four levels: beginners’ course, basic course, inter-medium course and advanced course. Aside from the regular language learning, students also had lots of opportunities to take part in some cultural activities such as visits to museums, Macau historical heritage and learning traditional Portuguese dancing and painting.

The closing ceremony will be held on 27 July (Friday) at 4:00 pm at STDM Auditorium, University of Macau. Students would perform what they have learnt in the summer course and there will be an exhibition of students’ artwork.

The summer course each year gives Macao a reputation as the place for students from Asia-Pacific region to learn Portuguese. During the four weeks together, students could study effectively the Portuguese language and culture from the natives and experts. The program also helps promote understanding of the cultural and social economic situation in Macao and enhances communication among students from different regions.
