A team of five Macao secondary school students, which was led by Dr Chan Iat Neng from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Science and Technology, represented Macao at the 45th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) and won two gold medals, two bronze medals, and an honourable mention, the best results Macao has ever achieved at this competition. This year’s competition was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 13 July to 21 July. Each year the competition attracts teams from over 80 countries and regions.
