Following the earlier visit to the new campus organised in September for principals of local secondary schools and management of educational organisations, the University of Macau (UM) recently invited senior and middle management of local secondary schools to visit the new campus. The delegation was warmly received by UM Vice Rector Prof. Simon Ho, Registrar Paul Pang, and Residential College Masters Prof. Kevin Thompson and Prof. Chung Ling.

The delegation first visited the Wu Yee Sun Library, where Prof. Simon Ho explained the new campus master plan, the people-oriented design concept, as well as the objective of sustainable development. Student ambassadors led the guests on a guided tour of the Senate Room in the Administration Building, UM Guest House, the University Hall, and the residential colleges.

During their visit to the residential colleges, Prof. Simon Ho further explained the university’s development strategies and its goal towards internationalisation. He added that the improved learning environment and the advanced facilities on the new campus are expected to help UM students to better focus on their studies and to realise well-rounded development. Residential College Masters Prof. Chung and Prof. Thompson showed the guests the living facilities. Prof. Chung noted that every residential college on the new campus is an ideal place for students to interact and learn from one another. The delegation had dinner in the restaurant in the Central Teaching Building. They were impressed with the facilities and expressed their hope that the new campus helps UM achieve greater success in the future.
