A Study on the Doctrine and Cases of Disregarding the Corporate Personality of Company in USA, China and Germany, a book co-authored by University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Law professor Fan Jianhong, his PhD student Li Chong and his master’s student Li Haimin, was published by UM’s Publications Centre in January 2013. The book has been greeted with unanimous acclaim from peers and experts. Prof Zhu Ciyun, a PhD supervisor at Tsinghua University, thinks this book fills the gap in the “disregard of corporate personality” in the field of comparative law.

“ Disregarding the corporate personality” or “piercing the corporate veil” is a key concept in the legislation of civil and commercial law in many countries. This concept has its own characteristics and applications when it is put into practice in different legal systems. By taking a comparative view, this book analyses this concept in three different countries: mainland China, the United States and Germany. It also provides a new perspective on studying this vital legal concept. The book is now available in various bookshops in Macao.
