A cold current hit Macao on 30 December, but it didn’t cool the spirits of the more than sixty UM Reporters and 2012/2013 PR Student Ambassadors, who participated in a two-day winter camp organised by the University of Macau’s (UM) Communications Office (CO) at the Macau Flying Eagle Training Centre, in an attempt to help participants cultivate self-confidence and team spirit.

CO launched the UM Reporter Programme in 2012, through which 23 students were recruited as the first UM Reporters. The purpose of the UM Reporter Programme is to mobilise students to dig for newsworthy material, to increase their sense of belonging to the university, and to provide a platform for students interested in media and writing to showcase their talent. The PR Student Ambassadors Programme was first launched in March 2010. The programme aims to discover and train students with interest and skills in guest reception, hospitality, event organisation, language, photography, multimedia, etc. It’s been three years since the launch of the PR Student Ambassador Programme, and approximately 120 students have participated in it.
