Recipients of the Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macao Research in Humanities and Social Sciences, co-organised by the Macao Foundation, Guangdong Social Sciences Association, and the Social Sciences in China Press, have been announced. Of the 395 submissions from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan (96 monographs, 299 papers), 28 awards were awarded in the monograph category and 28 in the paper category. University of Macau (UM) academics, including Hao Yufan, Tang Kaijian, Zhu Shoutong, Lin Guangzhi, Tong Io Cheng, Liu Jianhong, Tang Keng Pan, Wu Mei, Tang Chon Chit, Zhao Ruohui and Lao Chi Ngai, received nine awards, including two first-class awards, one second-class awards, and two Mention awards in the paper category, as well as one first-class award, one second-class award, one third-class award and one Mention award in the monograph category. Six of the award-winning papers have been published in the Journal of Macau Studies, a publication of UM’s Centre for Macau Studies.
