The University of Macau’s (UM) Dormitory Students’ Association (DSA), Pearl Jubilee College (PJC), East Asia College (EAC) and China Mainland Students Association (CMSA) organized two exciting activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day.

The first activity, the “Mid-Autumn Carnival”, co-organized by DSA, EAC and PJC, started at 19:30, on 29 September, Saturday, on the ninth floor of the East Asia Hall. The organizing committee invited UM Rector Wei Zhao and guests to light up the lantern amid a traditional Chinese music performed by UM’s Chinese Music Group as the grand opening. After the opening, Rector Wei Zhao and guests gave out moon cakes to students to share the blessings, and took photos with the students. Not only did participants get to taste delicious ice-skin moon cakes made at the kiosk and during riddle games, they also watched performances by members of DSA, PJC and EAC. UM students spent a delightful night with the guests to enjoy the festival.

The second activity, the evening party in celebration of the National Day, organized by CMSA, began at 19:30, on 5 October, Friday, at UM’s Cultural Centre. During the party, first-year students provided a splendid talent show. Of course there were also plenty of opportunities to win exciting prizes such as free upscale hotel accommodation, Monster headphones, etc.
