On 25 October 2011, the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Canadian Certified General Accountants Association of Hong Kong (CGA-HK).

Prof. Desmond Yuen, head of FBA’s Department of Accounting and Information Management, signed the MOU with Mr. Stephen Chan, president of CGA-HK. Honorable attendees included Prof. Michael Gift, associate dean of UM's FBA, Ms. Joyce Evans, chair of CGA-Canada; Mr. Alberto U, chair of the General Assembly of the Macau Society of Registered Accountants (ACRM); and Ms. Stella Lok, president of ACRM.

A CGA-HK’s project is suggested in the MOU. The main purpose of the collaborative project is to enhance cooperation between the two parties in accounting at education and research levels, so as to encourage students of accounting to conduct excellent accounting- or finance-related research projects.
