Zhang Boli, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering


Zhang Boli, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, president of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and president of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, will give a lecture on the modernization of traditional Chinese medicines, on 29 October at the University of Macau’s (UM) Ho Yin convention Centre (HG02).

The lecture is part of the ‘2011 Distinguished Chinese Scientists Lecture Series’. It is jointly organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, Macao Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology and UM, and co-hosted by International Medical Association.

The speaker Zhang Boli has been long devoted to the research on using and modernizing traditional Chinese medicines for treating cardiovascular diseases. He developed the model and technologies for researching and manufacturing modern Chinese medicines based on the combination of components. He also developed research methods and key technologies for the secondary development of brand-name high-quality Chinese medicines. Over the years, he has participated in more than forty national research projects and has won five Science and Technology awards at the national level as well as more than twenty Science and Technology awards at the provincial level.

At the lecture, Zhang will analyze the modernization of traditional Chinese medicines and the path it takes. He will also share his research experiences.
