An international conference on “Toward an East Asian Community: a Myth or Reality”, co-organized by the Department of Government and Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), and National Taiwan University’s Center for China Studies, will open at UM’s Ho Yin Convention Centre on 13 May.

The opening ceremony will take place at 9:00am. More than twenty renowned scholars and experts from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China will get together to discuss economic, political, and security issues of the East Asian Community, the opportunities and challenges it is facing, and the prospects of the integration of East Asia.
