UM representatives with CNR top management

Three students and a teacher from the Department of Communication, University of Macau (UM), were invited to participate in the sixth Gathering of Friends of Huaxia Voice, China National Radio (CNR), held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.

At the gathering, UM representatives, namely Acting Head of the Department of Communication Prof. Wu Mei, MA student Casey Wong, and third-year students Helen Lee and Pantene Pan exchanged views with more than 30 media-major students from Macao and Hong Kong, CNR top management, as well as presenters and journalists. After the meeting, the organizer arranged for participants to visit the historical sites in Xi’an to let them experience first-hand the profoundness of the Chinese culture.

Huaxia Voice, a CNR subsidiary, is the only national radio station in China that offers bilingual (Mandarin and Cantonese) programmes. It has accumulated a large audience base in Hong Kong, Macao and the Pearl River Delta Region.
