Space Allocation

 

Space is a finite and expensive resource, yet vital to sustain the continuous development of a university. Therefore, it requires effective and efficient management for the use of space.


The Space Allocation Committee (SAC), led by the Vice Rector (Administration), is an advisory committee that undertakes the responsibilities for advising the Rector in the space allocation of the new campus.

Notes:
1.
The corresponding Vice Rectors may only attend those Committee meetings that pertain to their scope of responsibilities;
2.
Membership of Faculty and Residential College shall be on rotation basis and to be appointed by Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) and Vice Rector (Student Affairs) respectively;
3.
Proposed term of office is 1 year;


Terms of Reference:
The Space Allocation Committee has the following responsibilities:
1.
To advise the Rector or his/her delegate, ensuring that space allocation meets UM's goals and objectives;
2.
To advise the Rector or his/her delegate on optimizing space usage across UM;
3.
To help the Rector or his/her delegate devise UM's space allocation policies;
4.
To advise the Rector or his/her delegate on space allocation;
5.
To analyze requests for additional space or reallocation of space and make recommendations to the Rector or his/her delegate;
6.
To handle other requests from the Rector.
