This course examines the international interactions between China and Europe. Following a brief historical account of bilateral relations, it focuses on issues of major concern, including economic, security, energy, environment, human rights and cultural aspects. It then introduces China's relations with major European powers, including the U.K. France, Germany, Eastern European countries, and the EU. The unique role of Hong Kong and Macau in Sino-European relations is also discussed.
