Kin Sun CHAN is Assistant Professor of Public Administration at the University of Macau. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at the University of Hong Kong, an M.Phil. from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong, and a B.Soc.Sci from the University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Chan’s research examines social policy in Hong Kong and Macau—particularly with respect to aging, suicide, and public finance—as well as the application of statistical methods to public policy research. He has published in both English and Chinese-language journals, including the Asian Journal of Public Administration, the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, the International Journal of Aging and Development, the Journal of Macau Studies, Public Administration and Policy Review, and the Chinese Journal of Population Science. Dr. Chan has also conducted numerous studies on social policy and economic development on behalf of the Macau SAR government. Dr. Chan is a Research Fellow with the Sau Po Centre on Ageing at Hong Kong University. He is the current Chairman of the Macau Social Security Society, a past Vice-President of the Hong Kong History Society, and since 2009 has served on the Committee on Rehabilitation Services of the Macau SAR.
