Have you ever been to a blog and engrossed in what you are reading? You are delighted, inspired, impressed and deeply touched...

Bloggers are those who keep an online journal of topics ranging from the writing on personal issues to the extent of social interaction within individuals.

Raymond Lai, lecturer of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities (FSH), knew something about blogs in late 2004 and started to write his own in mid-2005. He said, "Blogging is a trend. I basically write about my observations and things that I found interesting in my life. I had one or two entries about my own feelings." Lai added that in some schools, bloggings enable teachers to collect information about students' study progress.

A Year 1 MA student of Applied English, Rosita David expressed, "I started blogging since June, 2005. I commonly write about my feelings lately and as far as I am concerned, everyone on my list has got a blog so I guess it's obvious that it becomes a kind of trend nowadays."

Many students of the University of Macau (UM) have the habit of blogging. "I go blogging daily. I write about emotions of my everyday life, problems encountered on campus, the pressure of assignments and examinations plus the difficulty in handling relationships in my social life. It's like it becomes a habit, I'll do it naturally without thinking," said Peace (not a real name), a UM student.

There are some reasons for you to start a blog. According to Christina Kuok, one of the graduates in UM 2005 and currently a Year 1 MA student in the Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong said, "Blogging is an accessible approach for my acquainted friends and schoolmates to sense my world of what I have done over time."

Beatriz Yu, a Year 3 Macau Polytechnic student majoring in Higher Diploma in Chinese-English Translation and Interpretation said, "Within these two years in blogging, I usually write about my experiences and features of my personal life. I also include photos in my posts as a piece of sharing, especially with friends I rarely meet and those studying abroad."

After blogging, you could have an uplifting feeling of relaxation and tend to feel better. As Yu once said, "I got something to say, but I'm totally wordless."
