"Is this your final answer?" is probably the most familiar line coming to the mind of millions of Hong Kong and Macao television viewers these days, due to the stunning popularity of the TV game show "Millionaire" which has been on since May.

The hit show has not only given a boost to the viewing index of ATV, but also to the surging fame of its host Chan Kai-tai.

And now Chan is lending his thrilling "cool" image to help promote Macao.

Recently Chan has been appointed by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) to promote the "Macao Welcomes You Passport" programme in Hong Kong, an effort to further enhance Macao's tourism.

Chan was invited to participate in the "Macao Welcomes You" Promotional Campaign at the New Century Plaza in Mong Kok in Hong Kong on September 16 and he was given the first "Macao Welcomes You Passport."

A tourist, Lee Man-yiu said, "I am coming with my wife and kids to spend the Mid-Autumn festival holidays here since the travel package sounds attractive to us. But I haven't heard anything about the Millionaire show promoting Macao in Hong Kong."

27-year-old Hong Kong tourist William Chow said, "I have heard about it but I haven't seen Chan doing anything for Macao yet. Anyway, I've come here because of the privileges offered by the Macao Welcomes You Passport."

Another Hong Kong tourist Lee Ka-kei said, "I watched the promotional campaign in Mong Kok. I saw Chan playing games with people and I knew he got the first 'Macao Welcomes You Passport.' But I think it's mainly the discount privileges and prizes that attract tourists to come to Macao."

A Macao resident Kok Suk-mei said, "I think this promotion would help Macao tourism as Chan is so famous now. He is watched every night by Hong Kong people and now he would remind them of Macao."

According to the Macao Government Tourist Office, Hong Kong tourists who visit Macao this year from September to December can join the Macao Welcomes You Passport Campaign. They can not only enjoy impressive discounts offered by different retail outlets, hotels, restaurants and other entertainment entities, but also have the chance to win plentiful prizes, including the big prize of MOP100,000.
