Medical

1. Medical Benefit
The appointee and his/her eligible family members (including spouse, ascendants and descendants), subject to conditions stipulated in relevant regulations, shall enjoy medical benefits as provided by the Government Hospital, the Government Health Centres, the Kiang Wu Hospital, the Campus Health Care Service, as well as appointed medical institutions, subject to a monthly contribution of 0.5% of his/her basic remuneration. Moreover, appointees shall be provided with the hospitalization medical insurance plan which entitles him/her to in-patient care at any qualified medical institutions worldwide.

2. Provident Fund
The appointee may enjoy the provident fund scheme of the University on a voluntary basis. For those who join the scheme, both the appointee and the University shall contribute a monthly amount equal to a percentage of the appointee’s basic remuneration in that month. The monthly contribution of the University can be up to 15% while that of the appointees can range from 5% to 10%, which is up to the appointees’ own needs. Contributions from the staff member and the University shall cease either from the month in which the staff member’s employment is terminated or upon the staff member’s normal retirement age of 65 years old.

3. Staff Privilege
The full-time staff members can enjoy various staff privileges from different services and associations in the areas such as banking, foods, transportation, hotels and other activities.

4. Seniority Premium
The seniority premium for each five-year term of service amounts to 10 index points*. It shall be paid in the monthly remuneration to any staff member upon his/her completion of every five-year period of uninterrupted service for the University of Macau.

*At present, 1 index point = MOP 88. While USD 1 = around MOP 8.
