There are so many universities in the world. Why do so many students choose UM for college? What is so attractive about the university?

John Wong, a student from the Faculty of Law, received an offer from one of the top 100 universities in the world, but in the end he decided to choose UM. ‘UM’s residential college system is very appealing to me,’ says Wong. ‘Each college is a like a family or a community where students can learn from and exchange ideas with each other.’

Huber Hu, a UM student who originally planned to go to college in the United States, later changed his mind and chose to study electromechanical engineering at UM. He says that UM provides many opportunities for students to develop their talents. ‘It was a very good decision because UM provides a very good academic environment for students to practise their skills and conduct research,’ says Hu.

Gonzales Wu, a student of computer science at UM, says that he chose UM because of the excellent learning environment. He is an active participant in many campus activities and a member of the UM Reporter Programme. ‘UM invites top international experts and scholars to give lectures on a regular basis,’ says Wu. ‘I did an interview with a Nobel laureate. It was such an unforgettable experience.’
